Whitewater, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team captured its fourth straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship (presented by Culver's) Saturday night at UW-Whitewater's Leonard "Squig" Converse Track at Kachel Fieldhouse.
The Eagles finished with 281.5 team points to win their 10th conference title in the last 11 seasons. UW-Oshkosh placed second with 94.0 points and UW-Eau Claire third with 90.0. UW-Stout was fourth (73.0) followed by UW-Whitewater (62.0), UW-Stevens Point (32.5), UW-Platteville (19.0) and UW-River Falls (11.0).

UWL has now captured a league record 30 titles (1978-81, 1983, 1985-87, 1994, 1997, 2000-05, 2007-10, 2013-18, 2020, 2022-24) in school history.
It is the fifth (2018, 2020, 2022-24) championship under head coach
Nickolas Davis.
The Eagles won two individual and one relay crown on Saturday. UWL's
Lauren Jarrett captured the 60-meter dash (7.55) while
Samantha Barrett took the triple jump (39-3 ¾). Jarrett is the first sprinter to win the title for UWL since Savannah Rygiewicz in 2020. It is the third straight triple jump crown for the Eagles after
Miah Keller won in 2022 and
Hailie Kent in 2023.

Jarrett also placed second (25.43) in the 200-meter dash on Saturday with
Anika Reiland third (25.55) and
Makenna Zak fifth (26.08).
UWL captured the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday with
Sarah Grubbs,
Anna Plautz,
Morgan Jennings and
Amber Johnson (3:55.95). It marks the fifth straight league crown in the 4x400-meter relay for the Eagles. Johnson has been a member of the last three winning relays while Jennings earned her second straight title in the relay.
In Saturday's pentathlon, UWL recorded three of the top-four finishers.
Alexys Scheuerell was second (3,348 points),
Amber Grosse third (3,302) and
Noelle Hackenmueller fourth (3,265). The pentathlon includes the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800-meter run.
In other top-eight finishes on the track Saturday, the Eagles'
Hannah Holm finished second (8.87), Grosse fifth (9.20) and
Brie Eckerman sixth (9.22) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Along with Jarrett's first-place finish in the 60-meter dash, Zak placed third (7.72),
Taylor Molling fourth (7.81) and Reiland fifth (7.85).
UWL had four of the top-seven finishers in the 3,000-meter run as
Katelyn Chadwick finished third (10:00.96),
Madelynn McIntyre fifth (10:15.72),
Brooklyn Luebke sixth (10:23.55) and
Maddy Vantassel seventh (10:23.88).
The Eagles'
Maddie Hannan finished fourth (2:17.37),
Greta Koehler seventh (2:17.73) and
Lillith Higgins eighth (2:18.68) in the 800-meter run on Saturday.

UWL had five of the top-six finishers in the triple jump on Saturday. Along with Barrett capturing the title,
Maya Evans placed second (37-3 ¾),
Mackenzey Kronberg third (37-2 ¼),
Josie Blum fifth (36-7 ½) and
Ashley Davies sixth (36-6 ½).
Ella Puls was seventh (53-5 ½) and
Izzy Carroll eighth (52-4) in the weight throw on Saturday.
Hannan was named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete at the conclusion of the championships while Holm was selected to the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team.
UWL returns to action Friday, March 1 at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Qualifier at 1:30 p.m.
