Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team, ranked third on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Top-25 Poll, opened its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schedule with a 57-0 victory at UW-Oshkosh Thursday night in Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles improve to 4-0 overall.
UW-Oshkosh drops to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

The Eagles won seven matches by fall on Thursday night and three by technical fall.
Ino Garcia opened the dual with a win by fall (:53) over JP Culver at 125-pounds.
Teague Holzer followed with a technical fall (21-5, 6:36) at 133-pounds over the Titans' Andrew Schad.
Talan Schutte and
Kaiden Schrandt earned back-to-back victories by fall at 141 and 149. Schutte defeated Logan Harel at 141 (:52) and Schrandt defeated Logan Andrews at 149 (2:49).
At 157-pounds, UWL's
Cole Hansen won by technical fall (20-3, 5:00) over Jacob Hibbard.
Tyler Goebel, ranked second in the NWCA, followed with a win by fall (1:05) over Ryan Bergman at 165.

Eddie Simes earned the victory by technical fall (21-6, 2:31) at 174-pounds followed by
Tyler Dormanen winning by fall (2:38) over Vincent Bird at 184.

Ben Kawczynski and Michael Douglas completed the shutout with wins by fall. Kawczynski defeated Desmond Walker at 197-pounds (2:15) while Douglas, ranked first in the country, won by fall (2:07) over Garth Martell at 285-pounds.
UWL returns to action Saturday, November 23 at the Concordia University Wisconsin Invitational at 9 a.m. and in a WIAC dual versus UW-Platteville at 5 p.m. at Mukwonago High School.
