La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team completed its regular season home schedule with a 23-12 dual loss to second-ranked Augsburg University (Minn.) Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, ranked third in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Poll, drop to 10-2 on the year. The Auggies improve to 6-1.

Augsburg (Minn.) took the three matches by major decision to lead, 12-0. Austin Laudenbach won by major decision (14-2) over
Quintin Wolbert at 125-pounds followed by Chance Suddeth winning by major decision (17-5) over
Zach Weiler at 133. Sixth-ranked Sam Stuhl won by major decision (10-1) over
Sam Lorenz at 141.
UWL cut the lead to 12-6 with wins from
Tyler Goebel and
Nolan Hertel. Goebel, ranked third in the NWCA, won by decision (8-1) over second-ranked Charlie Stuhl at 149-pounds. Hertel, ranked first in the country, followed with a decision (10-4) over fifth-ranked Blake Jagodzinske at 157.
The Auggies regained a 18-6 lead with a pair of decisions. Third-ranked Cooper Willis won by decision (3-0) over
Tate Flege at 165-pounds, followed by third-ranked Seth Goetzinger's win (12-7) over
Leo Draveling at 174.
Augsburg (Minn.) extended its lead to 23-6 after top-ranked Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann won by technical fall (21-4, 6:07) over 10th-ranked
Marcus Orlandoni.
UWL's
Ben Kawczynski and
Michael Douglas earned wins in the final two duals on Saturday. Kawczynski, ranked eighth in NCAA Division III, won by decision (4-1) over third-ranked Parker Venz at 197-pounds. Third-ranked Douglas won by decision (6-2) over fourth-ranked Tyler Kim at 285-pounds.
The Eagles honored seniors Weiler, Hertel and
Noah Leisgang along with student managers Erinn Haback, Joette Kassa and Alexis Mico prior to the dual.
