La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team hosted the UWL Open Friday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles won eight events on Friday, including seven on the track.
Jayden Zywicki took the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:07.11) with
Elias Ritzke second (9:07.13) and
Nick Kepford third (9:09.98).
Michael Madoch won the 1,500-meter run (3:50.07) while
Christopher Wolfe was second (3:55.80).
Sam Blaskowski took the 200-meter dash (20.90),
Caden Pearce the 400-meter dash (47.84),
Cael Schoemann the 800-meter run (1:51.38) and
Payton Flood the 400-meter hurdles (54.46).
The Eagles' 4x100-meter relay of Paul Lough, Blaskowski,
Spencer Reichart and
Luke Vance also won (41.05) on Friday. O
Other top-three finishers included
Carter Kummett second (11.01) in the 100-meter dash,
Tyler Backes second (48.21) in the 400-meter dash,
Dirk Lueck second (54.62) in the 400-meter hurdles and
Chase Doornink third (21.76) in the 200-meter dash.
UWL's
William Cady won the triple jump (48-2 3/4) on Friday. Other top-three finishers in the field events included
Andrew Hermes second (22-6 1/2) and
Triton Schmidt third (22-5) in the long jump with
Brody Kluge third (46-3 1/2) in the triple jump. Aidan Williams was second (182-11) in the hammer throw.
UWL returns to action Thursday, May 18 hosting the UWL Final Qualifier at 3 p.m.
