UW-Eau Claire Invitational Results

La Crosse, Wis. - Members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team completed action at two meets on Friday. No team scores were recorded.

At the Drake Relays on Friday, UWL's Ryder Smith, Sam Blaskowski, Spencer Reichart and Luke Schroeder won its heat in the 4x100-meter relay with a school record time of 40.07. The time breaks the record of 40.18 set by Seth Holden, Troy De Bruin, Reichart and Josh Koenecke in 2021. The Eagles will run in the finals on Saturday, April 29. 

Blaskowski (10.36) and Smith (10.61) both advanced to Saturday's final in the 100-meter dash. Blaskowski recorded the second-fastest qualifying time while Smith was eighth. 

In other events, the 4x400-meter relay of Chase Doornink, Caden Pearce, Payton Flood and Addison Hill advanced to Saturday's final with a preliminary time of 3:12.64 on Friday. 

UWL's Nathan Andringa tied for 18th (6-4 3/4) in the high jump.

At the Drake Relays on Thursday, UWL's Ethan Gregg placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a school record time of 13:58.36. He broke David Stilin's record of 14:20.01 set in 2013. In other action Thursday, Michael Madoch finished 11th (3:49.31) in the 1,500-meter run and Adam Loenser 12th (8:57.37) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Drake Relays. 

In Friday's UW-Eau Claire Dick and Mary Johnson Invitational, UWL won five titles. On the track, Dirk Lueck took the 400-meter hurdles (54.77), Cael Schoemann the 800-meter run (1:52.65) and Tyler Backes the 400-meter dash (48.05). 

Nick Crary in the long jump (23-8 1/4) and Nolan Seaberg in the high jump (6-2 3/4) both won individual titles on Friday.

Other top-six finishers on the track events included Paul Lough placing second (10.74) in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash (10.74). Elias Ritzke was third (3:58.97) in the 1,500-meter run while Jacob Hohman was third (49.16) in the 400-meter dash. Carter Kummet was fourth (22.29) and Ashtom Kummet sixth (22.35) in the 200-meter dash. Carter Kummet was also fourth (10.86) in the 100-meter dash.

Bryant Yanke was fourth (57.14) in the 400-meter hurdles and Chad Thompson Jr. fifth (15.57) in the 110-meter hurdles.

In the field events, Cameron Sorenson placed second (23-4), Triton Schmidt third (23-1 1/4), Seaberg fourth (22-7 1/4) and Andrew Hermes sixth (21-11 1/2) in the long jump. Chase Roehl was second (46-9), William Cady third (46-0 3/4) and Brody Kluge fourth (45-6 1/4) in the triple jump. Chris Pieper was sixth (5-10 3/4) in the high jump while Christian Schultz finished second (14-3 1/2) and Ashton Moody sixth (13-9 3/4) in the pole vault.

Sorenson was also second (162-3) in the javelin throw on Friday. Kyle Peters finished third in the discus throw (139-6). 

UWL's Logan Powers finished second (175-7) and Douglas Grace third (169-11) in the hammer throw. Grace was also sixth (133-3) in the discus throw while Kyle Peters placed third (139-6). Peters was fourth (47-9 1/4) in the shot put while Ethan Welch finished third (47-10 1/2).

UWL returns to action Saturday, April 29 at the Drake (Iowa) Relays.
