Box Score St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team earned a 12-7 win at Hamline University (Minn.) Friday afternoon at Klas Field. The Eagles improve to 9-4 while the Pipers drop to 1-9. UWL and Hamline (Minn.) were suspended in its game on Sunday, April 16 due to snow in La Crosse.
With the victory, UWL sets a single-season school record for wins. The Eagles, in their fourth year as a varsity sport, finished 8-8 last year.
Kiersten Pelletier scored the game's first goal on Friday with 14:15 left in the first quarter on a
Grace Willmott assist. Hamline (Minn.) tied the game at 1-1 with 9:30 remaining on a Analisa Aragon goall off Courtney Parker's assist. The Eagles took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period on Pelletier's goal with 5:17 left.
Willmott tallied a pair of goals to start the second quarter for a 4-1 lead, scoring with 13:23 and 12:17 remaining. After Parker cut the lead to 4-2 with 7:13 left in the second quarter,
Ava Schiltz gave UWL a 5-2 lead with 6:23 remaining. Willmott recorded her third goal of the game with 2:11 left on a
Abigail Steigauf assist for a 6-2 advantage. The Pipers cut it to 6-3 at halftime with Taryn Leonard scoring with :43 left.

UWL scored the first three goals of the second half to take a 9-3 lead. Schiltz scored with 9:44 remaining in the third quarter while Pelletier scored with 8:19 and 4:50 remaining. Avery Wilson cut the deficit to 9-4 with 2:10 left in the quarter on Maitland Luksan's assist.
Both teams scored three goals in the fourth quarter. Schiltz gave UWL a 10-4 lead with 14:12 remaining before Luksan cut it to 10-5 with 13:51 left. Steigauf (9:47 left) and
Olivia Wight (7:36) gave the Eagles a 12-4 lead. Schiltz assisted on Wight's goal. Hamline (Minn.) scored the final two goal with Lily Uhl scoring with 5:26 remaining and Luksan with 2:12 left on a Leonard assist.
UWL finished with 38 shots in the game. Pelletier had four goals for the Eagles while Willmott and Schiltz each scored three.
Emily Hageman recorded seven saves to earn the win.
Hamline (Minn.) totaled 17 shots. Luksan had two goals and one assist while Leonard led the Pipers with two assists. Justine Case had 14 saves.
UWL returns to action Saturday, April 22 hosting UW-Stout at noon.
