La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team opened its 2023 outdoor season with a pair of meets.
At the Stanford University (Calif.) Invitational, UWL's
Ethan Gregg broke his own school record in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 28:40.35, breaking his record of 29:36.86 set last season. He placed sixth in section two.
UWL sent four athletes to the Wartburg College (Iowa) Outdoor Select. The Eagles'
Adam Loenser took the 3,000-meter steeplechase title (9:22.34) while
Aidan Matthai was fifth (9:39.15).
Dirk Lueck was second (54.73) and
Payton Flood fifth (55.87) in the 400-meter hurdles.
UWL returns to action Friday, April 7 hosting the Ashton May Invitational at 11 a.m.
