Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team fell, 18-11, at Calvin College (Mich.) Wednesday night at Aquinas College. The Eagles drop to 1-2 on the season while the Knights improve to 3-3.
It was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.Â
Calvin (Mich.) scored the game's first two goals on Wednesday night from Lainey Aldridge and Mekaelah McClymont. UWL cut the lead to 2-1 with 10:49 left in the first quarter on
Ava Schiltz' goal. The teams traded goals as Audrey Booher (9:46) scored for the Knights and Mackenzie Crouse (2:25) for the Eagles to make it 3-2. Megan Gilbert's goal with :20 remaining in the first quarter gave Calvin (Mich.) a 4-2 lead.Â

Aldridge (13:36) and McClymont (11:04) made it 6-2 early in the second quarter, but UWL got goals from Schiltz (10:14) and
Lauren Schwartz (7:37) cut the lead to 6-4. Calvin (Mich.) went on a 4-1 scoring run to take a 10-5 halftime advantage. Meghan Chang had two goals for the Knights while McClymont and Gilbert also scored. Gilbert's goal came with :02 left in the half. Schwartz scored for UWL.Â
UWL outscored Calvin (Mich.), 4-2, in the third quarter to trail 12-9. Schiltz had two goals in the quarter while Schwartz and Crouse also tallied goals.Â
The Knights scored the first four goals in the fourth quarter to take a 16-9 lead. Aldridge scored the first two goals of the quarter and Gilbert the next two. Schiltz cut the lead to 16-10 with 3:40 remaining and Crouse' goal with 2:09 left made it 16-11. McClymont (1:06) and Gilbert (:10) finished the scoring for the Knights.
UWL finished with 29 shots. Schiltz led the Eagles with five goals on eight shots while Crouse and Schwartz each scored three times. Schwartz had five shots and five ground balls in the game and Crouse four shots.
Britta Nelson finished with nine shots.
Emily Hageman recorded 15 saves.Â
Calvin (Mich.) totaled 44 shots as Gilbert finished with six goals. McClymont had five goals and Aldridge four. Jessica Camp registered 16 saves.Â
