Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team placed third at the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational Saturday. The Eagles finished with 97.5 points while UW-Oshkosh took the team title with 120.0. Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) was second with 112.0. A total of eight teams competed.

Ethan Gregg broke the school record in the 5,000-meter run, finishing second with a time of 13:52.59.
Isaac Wegner was fourth (14:24.72),
Aidan Matthai fifth (14:35.72) and
Adam Loenser sixth (14:40.88) in the 5,000-mete run. Gregg and Wegner both broke the school record of 14:24.99 set by David Stilin in 2013.
Elias Ritzke placed third (4:14.49) in the mile run on Saturday while
Michael Madoch was fifth (4:17.38) and
Christopher Wolfe sixth (4:18.34).
Cael Schoemann finished fourth (1:54.58) in the 800-meter run with
Ryder Smith fifth (6.95) in the 60-meter dash and Ashton Kummet fifth (22.99) in the 200-meter dash.
Lukas Johnson was sixth (8.62) in the 60-meter hurdles.
In Saturday's field events, UWL's
Aiden Williams finished third (58-3 1/4) and
Douglas Grace fifth (53-7 3/4) in the weight throw while
Triton Schmidt was third (22-7 1/4) in the long jump.
Bryce Sitko placed fourth (48-8 1/4) in the shot put with
William Cady fourth (45-10 3/4) in the triple jump.
JT Zell finished fourth (15-0 3/4) in the pole vault while
Logan Larson was fifth (15-0 3/4) and
Ashton Moody sixth (14-6 3/4).
UWL returns to action Friday, February 17 hosting the Eagle Open at 3 p.m.
