Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin La Crosse women's basketball team got off to a slow start and never fully recovered as they dropped a non-conference game to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on day two of the Gundersen Hotel & Suites Thanksgiving Classic.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- Gustavus (Minn.) opened the game on a 14-4 run and never trailed in the first quarter. Kailee Meeker would score the next five points for the Eagles as UWL trailed 16-9 at the end of the first quarter.Â
- Gustavus (Minn.) would score the first six points of the second quarter to extend their lead to 22-9 with 8:19 on the clock. Katie Waukau hit a three-pointer for UWL as the Eagles would cut their deficit to 24-15 with 3:49 left in the half. However, Gustavus (Minn.) scored the nine of the final 11 points of the half to lead 33-17 at halftime.Â
- After Gustavus (Minn.) took its largest lead of the game (41-17), UWL went on a 14-3 run to cut their deficit to 44-31 with 3:32 left in the third quarter. Lindsey Knuth started the run with a three-pointer while Madisyn Kilboten scored five points. The Gusties finished the third quarter on a 12-4 run to lead 56-35 after three quarters.Â
- The Eagles would go on a 9-3 run to trail 61-48 with 2:21 remaining in the game; however, that would be as close as UWL would get as they did not score again. UWL held Gustavus to eight points in the fourth quarter after giving up more than 16 each of the first three quarters.Â

- Meeker led the Eagles with 10 points while Knuth and Sydney Torgerson each added eight points.Â
- Lauryn Milne grabbed a team high seven rebounds while Kilboten added six rebounds.Â
- As a team, UWL shot 16-of-66 (24.2%) from the floor including four-of-22 (18.2%) from behind the three point line. UWL finished 12-of-15 (80%) from free throw line.Â
- Kylie Baranick led the Gusties with 13 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.Â
- Emma Kniefel added 10 points and six rebounds.Â
- Gustavus (Minn.) finished 24-for-59 (40.7%) from the floor including four-of-18 from behind the three point line. They also were 12-of-16 (75%) from the free throw line.Â
