Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team won the UW-Whitewater Squig Converse Invitational Saturday. The Eagles finished with 248.0 team points with UW-Whitewater second with 81.0 and Ripon College (Wis.) third with 75.0. A total of eight teams competed.
In Friday's action, UWL's
Skylar White placed second (3,135 points) in the pentathlon with
Noelle Hackenmueller third (3,1250,
Allison Anderson fourth (3,118)
Amber Grosse fifth (3,016) and
Audrey Braun sixth (2,814). Events included the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800-meter run.Â
UWL won eight individual and one relay title in the two-day meet.
Skye Digman swept the weight throw (49-1 3/4) and shot put (47-9). Four other athletes captured crowns in Saturday's field events including
Maddie Hansen taking the long jump (18-5 1/4),
Ashley O'Connell the pole vault (12-3 1/4),Â
Miah Keller the triple jump (38-11 3/4) and
Ainsley Hansen the high jump (5-7 3/4). Hansen tied Katie Arnes' school record (5-7 3/4) in the high jump. Arnes set the mark in 1999.
On the track, Mara Schroeder won the 200-meter dash (26.48) and Grace Lundie the 400-meter dash (1:00.46).Â
The Eagles also won the 4x400-meter relay (4:06.48) with Elise Moon, Ellie Jillson, Mara Schroeder and Greta Koehler.
Other top-finishers in the field events included Leah Suprenat third (49-1) in the weight throw while Ava Foley placed second (18-3 1/4). Ava Foley was second (18-3 1/4) in the long jump with Hallie Kent third (18-0 1/4), Jenna Miller fifth (17-5 1/4) and Dyllan Powers sixth (17-2 1/4). Araceli De Leo Logan placed third (11-9 1/4) in the pole vault Saturday with teammate Nina Morrison (11-3 1/2) and Abby Meidl ranked fifth (11-3 1/2).Â
Along with Hansen winning the high jump,
Macie Todd was second (5-6 1/2),
Olivia Owens fourth (5-1 1/4) and
Alia Vanderhoef fifth (5-1 1/4).
Kent was third (37-0 1/2) in the triple jump with Maya Evans fourth (36-4 1/4), Kylah
Frederixon
fifth (36-4 1/4) and Mackenzey
Kronberg
sixth (36-2 3/4). Izzy
Carroll placed second (43-3 1/4) and Alayna
Digman
fourth (40-0) in the shot put.Â
Other top-six finishers on the track included Jillson second (1:00.81) in the 400-meter dash while
Macee Redman was second (9.78) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Bella Seitz placed third in the 60-meter dash (8.02) and 200-meter dash (26.92).
Jenna Coty placed sixth (8.13) in the 60-meter dash while Powers tied for fourth (27.17) in the 200-meter dash.Â
Koehler placed third (2:18.68),
Izi Knoernschild fourth (2:22.45) and
Kylie Stockton fifth (2:23.08) in the 800-meter run.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 4 hosting the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational at 2 p.m.
