2022 NCAA Division III Championships Website
Geneva, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed second at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championships Saturday at SPIRE Institute. The Eagles, led by head coach
Nickolas Davis, recorded 51.0 team points to finish runner-up for the second straight season.
It is UWL's fifth (1986, 1993, 1997, 2021, 2022) runner-up finish at the NCAA III Outdoor Championships. The Eagles have won three (1983, 1984, 2015) national titles. UWL has now recorded 30 top-10 finishes, including 18 in the top-four, in 40 appearances at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
UWL also finished second at this year's indoor national championships in March.

Loras College (Iowa) won its third consecutive NCAA III title on Saturday with 55.0 points while Johns Hopkins University (Md.) and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) tied for third with 38.0. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was fifth with 25.0 points. The University of Mount Union (Ohio) was sixth (24.0) with Nebraska Wesleyan University and SUNY Geneseo tied for seventh (23.0). Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Mass.), Wartburg College (Iowa) and Carroll University (Wis.) tied for ninth (21.0). A total of 69 teams scored points.
UWL earned 14 All-America honors on Saturday (18 for the championships), including both relays finishing fifth. The 4x100-meter relay of
Jessica Stelzner,
Carley Elmhorst,
Emma Lawrence and
Emily Dawidowich placed fifth with a time of 46.85 while the 4x400-meter relay of
Amber Johnson,
Mara Schroeder,
Hannah Zenkovich and Lawrence was fifth at 3:44.58.
Emma Lawrence
Lawrence earned two individual All-America honors on Saturday, placing fourth (1:00.29) in the 400-meter hurdles and sixth (13.92) in the 100-meter hurdles. She now has five career outdoor All-America awards after finishing third in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles last season and as a member of UWL's fourth-place 4x400-meter relay.
UWL had a pair of athletes earn All-America accolades in the triple jump as
Miah Keller finished fourth (39-4 1/2) and
Samantha Barrett fifth (39-2 1/2).
Skye Digman and
Emma Malooly also earned NCAA III All-America awards on Saturday with Digman finishing fifth (177-4) in the hammer throw and Malooly eighth (10:40.71) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Digman won the national title in the discus throw on Thursday and now has six career outdoor recognitions. She was seventh outdoors in the shot put in 2019 and finished second in the hammer throw, third in the shot put and seventh in the discus throw in 2021. Malooly picked up her second career All-America honor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing third a year ago.
Skye Digman
With her All-America honor Saturday, Zenkovich now has four career outdoor awards. She also placed second in the heptathlon and seventh in the long jump at this weekend's national championships and was third in the heptathlon last season.
Emma Malooly
Dawidowich has three career NCAA III Outdoor All-America awards. Along with being a member of this year's 4x100-meter relay, she was second in the 200-meter dash and on UWL's third-place 4x100-meter relay in 2021.
Johnson has two career honors in the 4x400-meter relay with Saturday's fifth-place finish and last year's fourth-place showing.
Stelzner, Elmhorst and Schroeder each picked up their first career outdoor All-America honor on Saturday.
