La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team hosted the first day of the UWL Final Qualifier Wednesday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded as three events were contested on Wednesday, including the 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter steeplechase, and 5,000-meter run. 

The Eagles' Maddy Vantassel placed second (11:04.88) and Katelyn Chadwick fifth (11:20.31) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. 

Karlie Meyer was ninth (18:55.78) in Wednesday's 5,000-meter run. 

UWL returns to action Thursday, May 19 on the second day of the UWL Final Qualifier with field events starting at 3 p.m. and track events at 4 p.m.
