La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team hosted the first day of the UWL Final Qualifier Wednesday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores are recorded as three events were contested on Wednesday, including the 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter steeplechase, and 5,000-meter run.

Adam Loenser took the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:05.71) with teammate
Elias Ritzke third (9:22.62). Loenser's time of 9:05.71 ranks ninth in school history. Loenser moves into 10th on this year's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Honor Roll.

Michael Madoch was second (3:47.74) in the 1,500-meter run. His time of 3:47.74 ranks third in school history and the fastest since
Joe Hanson ran 3:46.34 in 1976. Madoch is now 19th on this year's national Honor Roll.

UWL had four runners in the 5,000-meter run with
Isaac Wegner finishing third (14:56.29),
Alex Strojny 10th (15:22.93),
Ben Stangel 15th (15:34.76) and
Tracy Bye 16th (15:35.81).
UWL returns to action Thursday, May 19 on the second day of the UWL Final Qualifier with field events starting at 3 p.m. and track events at 4 p.m.
