Platteville, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team placed eighth at the UW-Platteville Invitational Friday night at the UW-Platteville Track and Field Complex.
The Eagles finished with 59.5 team points while UW-Platteville won the team title with 111. UW-Whitewater was second (98) and UW-Eau Claire third (97.5). A total of 11 teams competed.
UWL won three events on Friday as
Sam Blaskowski captured the 100 (10.44) and 200 (21.21) meter dash and
Logan Larson the pole vault (15-9 3/4)
Other top finishes on the track included
Thomas Blumer second (51.17) in the 400-meter dash while
Dirk Lueck was fifth (57.85) in the 400-meter hurdles. The Eagles'
Caden Pearce was seventh (22.02) in the 200-meter dash,
Carson Reilly seventh (22.55) in the 110-meter hurdles and
Ethan Gregg eighth (14:23.33) in the 5,000-meter run.
Along with Larson winning the pole vault crown,
Tommy Knoche was second (15-4 1/4) and
JT Zell eighth (14-4 1/2). The Eagles'
Aiden Williams placed eighth (159-3) in the hammer throw Friday while
Michael Lampman was eighth (141-10) in the discus throw.
UWL returns to action Friday, April 22 hosting the Phil Esten Challenge at 2 p.m.
