Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Qualifier Saturday night. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles'
Samantha Barrett,
Skye Digman,
Alia Vanderhoef and
Emma Lawrence each won individual titles on Saturday. Barrett won the triple jump (38-9), Digman captured the shot put (49-1 1/2), Vanderhoef tied for first in the high jump (5-3 1/4) and Lawrence won the 60-meter hurdles (8.61). Barrett, Digman and Lawrence all set meet records with Digman and Lawrence also setting Hoover Fieldhouse records.
Digman was also second in the weight throw (56-3) Saturday.
Other top finishers in the field events for UWL included Ashely O'Connell second (12-2 3/4),
Abby Meidl third (11-9),
Lindsay Ruf tied for fourth (11-3) and
Liz Missiaen sixth (11-3) in the pole vault.
Madison Page was fourth (17-5 1/2) in the long jump while
Sarah Hulstedt was fifth (42-5 1/4) in the shot put,
Jessica Stelzner seventh (37-1) in the triple jump and
Macie Todd tied for eighth (5-1 1/4) in the high jump.
On the track,
Hannah Zenkovich placed fifth (8.88) and
Brooke McDowell seventh (8.96) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Emily Dawidowich was fifth (25.40) in the 200-meter dash while
Lilly Halvorson placed eighth (59.48) in the 400-meter dash.
The Eagles' 4x400-metre relay of
Amber Johnson, McDowell,
Katie Banie and Lawrence finished fourth (3:52.59).
UWL returns to action Friday, March 11 at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
