Box Score Winter Haven, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team earned a 7-6 win on Saturday over the University of Southern Maine. The Eagles improve to 2-3 on the season while the Huskies are now 3-7.

The Eagles scored first in the game as they tallied two runs.
Jonathan Wizner led off the inning with a double, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Jack Olver.
Anthony Vivian then doubled and scored on a single by
Mac Born. Then in the third inning, Olver singled and advanced to second on a single by Vivian. They would both advance a base on a balk before scoring on a single by Born to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.

Mac Born finished 2-for-4 with 3 runs batted in on Saturday.
The Huskies would get on the scoreboard in the fourth inning as they scored two runs on four hits. The Eagles would get a run back in the bottom half of the inning as
Colton Schraepfer singled and stole second. He would then score on a single by
Zach Carney. Southern Maine would get a run in the fifth and sixth innings to cut their deficit to 5-4.

The Eagles would get two more runs in the bottom half of the seventh as
Jack Kelly reached on an error and scored when Olver hit his first home run of the season to give UWL the 7-4 lead. SMU scored a run in the eighth on an RBI double by Cam Seymour and then pulled to within one (7-6) on a home run by Brogan Searle-Belanger in the ninth. Then with two runners on and two outs for the Huskies, UWL's
Caleb Matl forced a ground out to earn his first save of the season.

Offensively, the Eagles finished with seven runs on 12 hits and no walks. Olver led the way with three hits, three RBI and two runs scored while Born had two hits, three RBI and Vivian had two hits and two runs scored.

Chris Seveska (2-0) picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles as he allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three. Seveska came on in relieve of
Brady Schmitt who pitched the first four innings allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three. Matl (1) picked up the save by allowing one run on two hits. James Sinclair (0-3) suffered the loss for the Huskies as he gave up seven runs on 11 hits in 6.1 innings of work.

UWL returns to action on Sunday, March 20
 as they face Washington and Jefferson College (Pa.) in Davenport, Fla.  First pitch is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
