NCAA Division III Indoor Championships Website
Winston-Salem, N.C. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team tied for 17th at the 2022 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Indoor Championships Saturday night at JDL Fast Track. The Eagles finished with 12.0 team points. UW-Eau Claire and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) tied for the national crown with 35.0 points while Williams College (Mass.) finished third with 32.0 and Loras College (Iowa) fourth with 30.0.
SUNY Geneseo was fifth (27.0) wiht John Carroll University (Ohio), Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.), Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ithaca College (N.Y.) tied for sixth (26.0). UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh tied for 10th (25.0). A total of 63 teams scored points.
Seven UWL student-athletes earned NCAA III All-America honors on Saturday, including a pair from
Sam Blaskowski. He placed sixth in the 60-meter dash (6.89) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.45) to earn his second and third All-America award of this year's championships. Blaskowski placed seventh in Friday's long jump (23-8). It is the first career All-America honors for Blaskowski.
The Eagles'
Michael Madoch placed seventh (4:10.38) in Saturday's mile run to earn All-America honors. It is his first career award.
UWL's 4x400-meter relay also earned NCAA III All-America honors with
Addison Hill,
Caden Pearce,
Sam Mrochek and
Payton Flood finishing sixth (3:19.97). All four earned their first career All-America honor.
The UWL men have won an NCAA Division III record 18 indoor titles. The Eagles have a nation-leading 33 national championships overall (18 indoor, 15 outdoor). UWL has earned 387 indoor All-American honors, the most in the nation. The Eagles have crowned an NCAA Division III record 38 individual indoor champions.
