Mankato, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed second at the Minnesota State University Mankato Ted Nelson Classic Saturday in Myers Field House. The Eagles totaled 121.0 team points while host Minnesota State Mankato took the team title with 271.5. A total of eight teams competed.
UWL won three individual and one relay title on Saturday. The Eagles'
Katie Banie took the 600-meter run with a school record time of 1:34.82. She broke the record of Lace Van Zeeland of 1:35.43 set in 1997.Â

Greta Koehler took the 800-meter run (2:20.88) while
Ashley O'Connell won the pole vault (12-2). Â

UWL won the 4x400-meter relay (3:55.23) with
Amber Johnson,
Emma Lawrence, Banie and
Mara Schroeder.
Other top-six finishes on the track included
Hannah Zenkovich second (8.92), Lawrence third (8.99) and
Brooke McDowell sixth (9.13) in the 60-meter hurdles. Johnson placed fifth (59.78) and
Lilly Halvorson sixth (59.85)Â in the 400-meter dash while
Kylie Trousil finished fifth (2:25.13) and
Ellie Jillson sixth (2:30.87) in the 800-meter run.
Claire Koenecke was fifth (3:00.48) in the 1,000-meter run.
In the field events,
Skye Digman was second (48-3 1/4) in the shot put and sixth (57-10 1/4) in the weight throw.Â
Samantha Barrett placed second (37-5) and
Jessica Stelzner third (36-6 3/4) in the triple jump with
Madison Page fifth (17-4) in the long jump.
