Mankato, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team placed second at the Minnesota State University Mankato Ted Nelson Classic Saturday in Myers Field House. The Eagles totaled 117.0 team points while host Minnesota State Mankato took the team title with 268.5. A total of 10 teams competed.
Individual winners for UWL included
Sam Blaskowski,
Payton Flood and
Elias Ritzke. Blaskowski took the 200-meter dash (21.84), Flood hte 400-meter dash (50.71) and Ritzke the 800-meter run (1:57.91).
The Eagles' took the 4x400-meter relay (3:21.33) with
Addison Hill, Flood,
Caden Pearce and
Sam Mrochek.
Spencer Reichart recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the 60 (6.91) and 200 (22.58) meter dashes. Pearce was fifth (50.91) and Hill sixth (50.94) in the 400-meter dash while
Carson Reilly was fifth (8.38) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Chad Franz was fifth in the mile run (4:25.34).
In Saturday's field events, Blaskowski was second (23-4 3/4),
Andrew Hermes third (22-7 3/4) and
Nolan Seaberg sixth (21-5 1/2) in the long jump. Seaberg also tied for fourth (6-0 3/4) in the high jump while teammate
Evan Daley finished third (6-2 3/4).
William Cady placed fourth (44-9 1/2) in the triple jump.
JT Zell tied for third in the pole vault (14-8 1/4) with
Michael Lampman finishing fifth (54-11 1/4) in the weight throw.
