Brown Deer, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team is in second-place after the third day of action at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) Friday night at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center.

The Eagles, aiming for their 10th straight league title, have 556 team points. UW-Eau Claire leads with 561 points with UW-Stevens Point third (482), UW-Whitewater fourth (212) and UW-Oshkosh fifth (187).
In Friday's action, UWL took a pair of individual titles as well as a relay crown. The Eagles'
Maddy Albert-Nelson captured the 100 butterfly (57.43) while
Jordy Hahlen won the 100 backstroke (57.14). It marks the third straight title for UWL in the 100 butterfly after
Ellie Szczupakiewicz won in 2019 and 2020. Hahlen is the first Eagle to win the 100 backstroke since Brooke Reynolds won four straight (2012-15).
Hahlen,
Lauren Steien, Albert-Nelson and
Aubrey Lonergan won the 400 medley relay (3:54.27). It is the second straight crown for UWL after
Lilly Larsen,
Maria Vaudreuil, Szczupakiewicz and Mikala Leppla won in 2020.

Other top-finishes individually on Friday included
Abi Schauske second (4:41.42),
Claire Vandenhouten sixth (4:52.37) and Ellie Bie 13th (5:03.69) in the 400 I.M.
Sarina Le was third (59.11) and
Brooke Presny fifth (59.79) in the 100 butterfly.
UWL had five of the top-seven finishers in the 100 backstroke. Along with Hahlen taking first,
Autumn Seebach was second (57.51),
Kylee Sommer fourth (58.22), Albert-Nelson fifth (58.49) and Sophie Benson seventh (1:00.29).
Steien was second (1:06.67) and
Molly Banks eighth (1:11.58) in the 100 breaststroke.
Reilly Eiynck finished third (1:56.57) in the 200 freestyle with
Amelia Olson seventh (1:58.26), Lonergan eighth (1:59.24),
Sydney Guenther 10th (1:59.15) and
Alexis Hoeben 14th (2:01.50).
Fourth and final day action at the WIAC Championships continues Saturday, February 19 with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
