Mankato, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team placed second at the Minnesota State University Mankato Mark Miller Invitational Friday in Myers Fieldhouse. The Eagles finished with 178.5 team points while host Minnesota State Mankato won the title with 217.5. A total of nine teams competed.
UWL won four individual titles Friday, including three on the track.
Tyler Kisting took the 800-meter run (1:55.45),
Ethan Gregg the mile run (4:17.36) and
Adam Loenser the 3,000-meter run (8:38.07). In the field events,
Sam Blaskowski captured the triple jump (24-2 1/4).
Other top finishes on the track included
Caden Pearce second (50.30),
Payton Flood third (50.56) and
Lucas Norland sixth (51.20) in the 400-meter dash while
Spencer Reichart was fourth (22.75), Flood fifth (22.84) and
Justin Kotarak sixth (22.88) in the 200-meter dash. Along with Gregg winning the mile,
Isaac Wegner was second (4:17.79),
Christopher Wolfe fourth (4:24.93) and
Tracy Bye sixth (4:25.81).
Parker Huhn placed second (8:39.39) in the 3,000-meter run with
Zach Slevin fourth (8:40.08) and
Ethan Thompson sixth (8:44.98).
Elias Ritzke was third (1:57.42) and
Alex Turner fourth (1:57.85) in the 800-meter run.
Carson Reilly finished fifth (8.27) in the 60-meter hurdles while
Jordan Montgomery was sixth (7.08) in the 60-meter dash.
UWL's 4x400-meter relay of Bye, Turner,
Ben Stangel and
Trent Curry finished second (3:38.75).
In the field events,
William Cady placed second in the triple jump (46-0 1/2) and fourth in the long jump (22-3 3/4).
Chase Roehl finished third in the triple jump (44-2 1/2).
Logan Larson finished second (15-8 1/4),
Tommy Knoche fourth (15-4 1/4) and
JT Zell fifth (14-10 1/4) in the pole vault.
UWL's
Aiden Williams was sixth (54-4 1/2) in the weight throw.
UWL returns to action Friday, February 25 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) at UW-Platteville.
