Brown Deer, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams completed second day action at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) Thursday night at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center.
The Eagles' women's squad is in second-place with 277 team points while the men's team is third with 218. UW-Eau Claire leads the women's team standings with 315 points followed by UWL (277), UW-Stevens Point (275), UW-Whitewater (110) and UW-Oshkosh (101). UWL is seeking its 10th straight league title.

On the men's side, UW-Stevens Point leads with 331 points. UW-Eau Claire is second (326) followed by UWL (218), UW-Whitewater (116) and UW-Oshkosh (98).
In Thursday's action, UWL's
Lauren Steien won the league title in the 200 I.M. (2:09.41) while
Autumn Seebach placed third (2:11.85),
Jordy Hahlen sixth (2:14.27) and
Sarina Le seventh (2:15.40).
The Eagles'
Amelia Olson placed fourth (5:13.50) and
Claire Vandenhouten eighth (5:22.23) in the 500 freestyle final while
Sydney Guenther finished 11th (5:21.01), Ellie Bie 12th (5:24.95) and
Reilly Eiynck 13th (5:27.09).
In the 50 freestyle,
Alexis Hoeben finished seventh (24.71) and
Aubrey Lonergan eighth (24.82).
Kylee Sommer placed 10th (24.81),
Molly Banks 13th (25.14) and
Brooke Presny 14th (25.23).
UWL finished second (1:36.98) in the 200 freestyle relay with Sommer, Banks, Hoeben and Lonergan.
Erika Hysalliu led the divers with a fifth-place finish (350.80 points) in the one-meter competition with
Laci Gottschalk eighth (321.95) and
Lauren Feder 10th (317.65).

UWL recorded five of the top-16 finishers in the 50 freestyle on the men's side.
Blake Nelson finished second (20.92),
Nicholas Litterer third (21.12),
Connor Cleveland 10th (21.77),
Jackson Plautz 12th (21.95) and
Mickey Keating 16th (22.22).
Gavin Vink was the Eagles' top finisher in the 200 I.M., placing seventh (1:59.00).
Jacob Brehmer was 10th (2:00.20),
Joe Herrick 11th (2:01.48) and
Blake Harre 14th (2:04.59).
Will Quackenbush led UWL with a third-place finish (4:40.32) in the 500 freestyle while
Andrew Perrin finished eighth (4:44.89),
Sebiyam Werdin-Kennicott 13th (4:55.27) and
Jonathan Pella 14th (4:56.86).
The men's 200 freestyle relay of Nelson, Plautz, Quackenbush and
Nicholas Litterer finished second (1:23.20).
Third day action continues Friday, February 18 with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
