Elfers, Evans, Gehm and Hartmann Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors

La Crosse, Wis. - Four members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team have been named to the 2025-26 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced.

Senior Jonah Elfers of Monona Grove (H.S.), juniors Davin Evans of Houghton (H.S.) and Tyler Hartmann of Wales (Kettle Moraine) and sophomore Nathaniel Gehm of Green Bay (Preble) picked up the academic accolades. It is the second straight season Elfers, Evans and Hartmann earned CSC Academic All-District® honors.

Elfers, an exercise sport science major with a 3.68 cumulative grade point average, was named the 2025-26 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete in swimming & diving. He finished second in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 200 butterfly and ninth in the 100 backstroke at this year's WIAC Championships. Elfers was also member of UWL's second-place 200 medley relay.

He is three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and has been recognized on UWL's Dean's List numerous semesters. Elfers received the 2022 Eagle Access Scholarship Award and the 2023 and 2025 Silver Eagle Award. He has volunteered with the Salvation Army, Special Olympics, UWL Veterans Breakfast, La Crosse Rotary Lights, Roncalli Newman Catholic Center and UWL's Bubba's Night.

Evans is a double major in chemistry and microbiology with a minor in Spanish while maintain a 3.97 grade point average. He was fourth in the 400 I.M., sixth in the 1,650 freestyle and seventh in the 500 freestyle at this year's WIAC Championships. Evans was also on the third-place 800 freestyle relay.

A member of UWL's Dean's List five semesters, Evans earned the 2025 UWL William W. Allen Chemistry Undergraduate Scholarship. He earned UWL's Dean's Distinguished Fellowship in 2025 and 2026. Evans is a two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. He has volunteered with the Salvation Army and Bubba's Night Fundraiser.

Hartmann is majoring in engineering physics and minoring in mathematics with a 3.85 grade point average. He won the 50 freestyle at the 2026 WIAC Championships while finishing third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 100 breaststroke. Hartmann was on UWL's conference winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay as well as the second-place 200 medley relay.

He is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and been on UWL's Dean's List five semesters. Hartmann, a two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, has volunteered with a homeless shelter, marsh clean-up, Salvation Army and Polar Plunge.

Majoring in exercise sport science pre-physical therapy with a 4.00 grade point average, Gehm is minoring in nutrition. He competed in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke at this year's league championships.

Gehm has been a member of UWL's Dean's List each semester and earned the Eagle Apprentice Scholarship Award and Chancellor's Scholarship Award. He was the winner of the undergraduate research grant. Gehm has volunteered at the St. John's Homeless Shelter and the National Shrine To Our Lady of Champion. He was named to the 2024-25 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 29, 2026. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
