Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed second at the Midwest Elite Invitational Saturday at UW-Whitewater. The Eagles finished with 157 team points while Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) took the team title with 164. A total of nine teams competed.
UWL's
Skye Digman swept Saturday's throwing events, winning the shot put (47-11 1/4) and weight throw (57-3).

Emma Lawrence captured the 60-meter hurdles (8.84) Saturday.

Other top-six finishers in the field events included
Olivia Owens second (5-6) and
Alia Vanderhoef sixth (5-2 1/4) in the high jump while
Ashley O'Connell was second (11-8),
Abby Meidl fifth (11-8) and
Lindsay Ruf sixth (11-2 1/4) in the pole vault. The Eagles had three of the top-five finishers in the triple jump and three of the top-six in the long jump.
Jessica Stelzner placed third (37-6 1/2) in the triple jump while
Samantha Barrett was fourth (37-5 3/4) and
Miah Keller fifth (37-3 3/4). In the long jump,
Hannah Zenkovich placed second (19-0), Stelzner fifth (18-5) and
Madison Page sixth (18-1 1/2).
Leah Surprenant was fifth (51-2 1/4) in the weight throw.
On the track,
Emily Dawidowich finished second (25.69) in the 200-meter dash with
Mara Schroeder second (59.23) and
Amber Johnson fifth (1:00.06) in the 400-meter dash.
Haley Durst was sixth in the 60-metre dash (7.93) with
Brooke McDowell fifth (9.05) and Zenkovich sixth (9.06) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Katie Banie was fifth (2:15.61) and
Claire Koenecke sixth (2:17.49) in the 800-meter run while
Maddie Hannan placed fourth (5:05.75) in the mile run. In the 5,000-meter run,
Rachel Jeffers placed fifth (17:46.23) and
Katelyn Chadwick sixth (17:48.96).
The Eagles' 4x400-meter relay of
Lilly Halvorson, Schroeder, Banie and Lawrence finished fourth (3:56.39).
