Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team earned a pair of wins Thursday night at Rochester Community & Technical College (Minn.) in improving to 6-0 on the season. The Eagles earned a 47-0 victory over Iowa Lakes Community College and a 49-0 win over host RCTC.
In the win over Iowa Lakes,
Cael Weinzweig opened with a major decision (12-2) over Osvaldo Ocampo at 125-pounds to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.
Remington Bontreger followed with a decision (9-4) over Ayden Rader at 133 and
Juan Garcia won by major decision (10-0) over Tyrick Clay at 141 for a 11-0 lead.
Tyler Goebel's win by fall (2:52) over Elijah Broesder at 149-pounds gave UWL a 17-0 advantage.
Nolan Hertel won by technical fall (17-2, 6:30) over Christian Balmain at 157-pounds and
Kaleb O'Reilly won by fall (5:47) over Trevor Kruse at 165.

Nolan Paar earned wins by fall to extend the lead to 40-0. Simon beat Lawrence Taylor at 174-pounds (2:32) while Paar defeated John Colburne at 184 (6:32).
Marcus Orlandoni won by decision (3-1) versus Zavione Willis at 197 and
Michael Douglas won by major decision (11-2) over Jacob Rahn at 285.
Bontreger opened UWL's dual victory over RCTC with a win by fall (4:00) over Rocco Visci at 125-pounds. Weinzweig won by decision (7-4) over Jackson McCormick at 133.
Sam Lorenz and Goebel won by fall to give the Eagles a 21-0 lead. Lorenz defeated Nik Petsinger at 141 (1:45) and Goebel beat Omar Zamora at 149-pounds (1:45).
Hertel won by forfeit at 157. O'Reilly won decision (5-0) over Kent Beecham at 165-pounds while Brossard won by fall (6:35) over Walker Ingham at 174.
Paar earned a win by major decision (11-3) over Antony Tuttle at 184. Orlandoni won by decision (7-3) over Josh Franklin at 197 while Douglas earned the win by fall (3:45) over Nate Beberg at 285.
UWL, third in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Dual Team Rankings, returns to action Sunday, December 11 facing Cornell College (Iowa) at 1 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin.
