Cameron Sorenson of
Oshkosh (North) have been named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.
Alex Bongers
Named the 2022 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete, Bongers possesses a 3.89 grade point average. He is currently enrolled in the doctor of physical therapy graduate program after earning an undergraduate degree in biology. He secured a spot on the 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-District® Team. Bongers is a four-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
A two-year team captain, he was selected to the 2022 All-WIAC Second Team after being named to the 2019 and 2021 All-WIAC Honorable Mention Team.
Daines has compiled a 3.56 cumulative grade point average while being a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. He was named to the 2022 All-WIAC Second Team after earning 2021 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Second Team All-America honors.
Ryan Daines
Majoring in sociology and political science, Sorenson has a 3.75 grade point average. He is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and earned 2019 all-conference honorable mention honors.
Bongers, Daines and Sorensen helped lead UWL to a share of the conference championship in 2022 as the Eagles finished 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the WIAC. It was UWL's 34th time in program history.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
