La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team, third in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Dual Rankings, fell 20-19 to eighth-ranked Augsburg University (Minn.) Sunday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, competing in their home finale, drop to 6-4 on the season. The Auggies improve to 3-2.

Brandon Murphy gave UWL the first lead of the match with a decision (3-2) over Derek Steele at 125-pounds,
Sawyer Sarbacker, ranked 11th in the NWCA, extended the lead to 7-0 with a major decision (14-2) over Austin Gabbert at 133.
Third-ranked Sam Stuhl gave Augsburg (Minn.) its first points of the dual, winning by decision (4-3) over
Tyler Shackle at 141 to cut the lead to 7-3. Kaden Reetz gave the Auggies their first lead at 9-7 with a win by fall (3:00) over
Sam Lorenz at 149. Second-ranked Tyler Shilson extended the lead to 12-7 with a decision (5-3) over fourth-ranked
Nolan Hertel at 157.
Seth Brossard, ranked fifth at 165, got UWL back in the win column with a major decision (17-7) over Matt Rogge to cut the lead to 12-11. At 174-pounds, Solomon Nielson, ranked second, defeated
Luke Clark by technical fall (19-1, 4:52), bringing the Auggies lead to 17-11.

In a ranked matchup at 184, 11th-ranked Nick Rogge won by decision (3-1) over 10th-ranked
Kalyn Jahn to give Augsburg (Minn.) a 20-11 lead. Fifth-ranked
Isaac Lahr closed the deficit to 20-16 for UWL, winning by technical fall (16-1) over Parker Venz at 197. The Eagles'
Ben Kawczynski, ranked sixth at 285, defeated seventh-ranked Tyler Kim by decision (4-3) to cut the final margin to 20-19.
UWL earned a pair of exhibition wins Sunday.
Cole Hansen won by major decision (16-4) over Blake Jagodzinske at 157-pounds while
Isaac Gust won by decision (9-4) over Carter Sorenson at 174.
UWL returns to action Tuesday, February 1 at UW-Platteville at 6 p.m.
