Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team captured the UW-Whitewater "Squig" Converse Invitational Saturday in Williams Center. The Eagles finished with 257 team points while UW-Oshkosh was second with 89 and UW-Stevens Point third with 67. A total of 10 teams competed.
UWL's
Hannah Zenkovich captured the pentathlon with a school record total of 3,664 points. She breaks the school record of 3,541 set by
Amanda Wiebke in 2021.

Skylar White was second (3,093) with
Allison Anderson third (2,834) and Alexys Scheurell fourth (2,711).
UWL won six individual events on Saturday, including
Skye Digman sweeping the shot put (48-3 1/2) and weight throw (59-4 3/4). The Eagles had three other first-place finishers in the field events with
Olivia Owens winning the high jump (5-7),
Jessica Stelzner the long jump (18-8 1/2) and
Samantha Barrett the triple jump (38-9).
On the track,
Haley Durst captured the 60-meter dash (7.88). UWL also took the 4x400-meter relay (4:02.25) with
Amber Johnson,
Emma Lawrence,
Hannah Holm and
Melanie Kunze.
Other top-four finishers in the field events included
Alia Vanderhoef second (5-0 1/4),
Olivia Gartner third (5-0 1/4) and
Macie Todd fourth (5-0 1/4) in the high jump while
Madison Page was second (17-8 1/4) and Barrett fourth (17-5 1/2) in the long jump.
Kylah Frederixon finished second (37-1) in the triple jump while
Izzy Carroll finished third (41-3) and
Alayna Digman fourth (40-11) in the shot put.
Ashley O'Connell was third in the pole vault (11-6 1/4).
On the track,
Maddie Hannan finished second (10:23.66),
Katelyn Chadwick third (10:31.94) and
Julia Anderson fourth (10:31.95) in the 3,000-meter run. Kimberly Carviou was third (5:28.51) in the mile run.
Katie Banie placed secon (59.95),
Lilly Halvorson third (1:00.20) and
Izi Knoernschild fourth (1:00.93) in the 400-meter dash with Lawrence second (26.21) and Stelzner fourth (26.58) in the 200-meter dash.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 5 at the Minnesota State University Mankato Ted Nelson Classic at 11 a.m.
