Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field opened its 2022 season at the UW-Stout Open Saturday afternoon in Johnson Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles seven individual titles Saturday.
Sam Blaskowski took the long jump (23-3 1/4) and
Nick Crary the triple jump (45-1 1/2) in the field events.
On the track, Blaskowski won the 60-meter dash (6.92),
Caden Pearce the 200-meter dash (22.95),
Payton Flood the 400-meter dash (50.61),
Michael Madoch the mile run (4:14.36) and
Ethan Gregg the 5,000-meter run (14:40.86).
UWL also captured the 4x400-meter relay with
Payton Flood, Pearce,
Sam Mrochek and
Thomas Blumer (3:25.81).
Other top finishes in the field events included
William Cady second (45-0 1/4) and
Chase Roehl third (44-6 3/4) in the triple jump while
Logan Larson was second (14-7 1/4) and
Tommy Knoche third (14-7 1/4) in the pole vault.
Evan Daley was second in the high jump (6-6).
Andrew Hermes placed third in the long jump (21-9 1/2).
Ethan Welch was second (45-8) and
Kyle Peters third (45-3) in the shot put with
Michael Lampman second in the weight throw (55-11).
On the track,
Isaac Wegner finished second (14:44.28) and
Corey Fairchild third (15:00.59) in the 5,000-meter run while
Tyler Kisting was second in the mile run (4:16.33).
Spencer Reichart was second in the 60-meter dash (7.00) with
Carson Reilly second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.70).
Brett Zielke placed second (51.75) and Blumer third (51.93) in the 400-meter dash.
