Sydney Vian of
New Holstein (Kiel) from the swimming & diving team has been named to the 2020-21 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-America® At-Large Third Team, as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is her first career Academic All-America® honor. She was selected to the 2020-21 NCAA III Academic All-District® Six At-Large Team. The at-large team includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Vian is a psychology major with a 3.97 grade point average. Named the 2020-21 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women's Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete, Vian was also selected to the 2020-21 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team. She secured a spot on the 2019-20 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Honorable Mention Team. Vian is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
A two-year team captain, Vian is a three-time WIAC champion, winning the three-meter diving competition in 2019 and 2020, as well as the one-meter event in 2020. She was recognized as the Diver of the Meet at the 2020 WIAC championship. Vian was a NCAA Zones qualifier in both diving events in 2019 and 2020.

She was one of 14 selections to the Academic All-District Six Women's At-Large Team for NCAA III, which includes student-athletes from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The 2020-21 Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions III Academic All-America® teams programs.
