The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team captured its ninth straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) Saturday at David A. Smith Stadium at Ramer Field at UW-River Falls.

The Eagles finished with 276.0 team points while UW-Eau Claire was second with 164.5 and UW-Stevens Point third with 106.0. UW-Oshkosh placed fourth (101.0) followed by UW-River Falls (49.5), UW-Stout (48.0), UW-Platteville (45.0) and UW-Whitewater (26.0).

It is UWL's league record 35th outdoor title in school history.

The Eagles' 276.0 team points are the most since UW-Oshkosh finished with 313.0 in 1996.

UWL won five individual titles on Saturday, including Emma Lawrence who captured the 100 (14.12) and 400 (1:01.76) meter hurdles. She is the fourth hurdler in league history to sweep both events at the same championships and first in UWL history. Anita Clayvon of Carthage College, Wis. (1977, 1978), Felica Sutton of UW-Milwaukee (1984) and Breanna McMullen of UW-Eau Claire (2002) also won both titles in the same year. Lawrence is the first UWL athlete to win the 100-meter hurdles since Clair Shepardson in 2018 and the first since Mallory Hall in 2016 to take the 400-meter hurdles. Lawrence set a facility record (14.12) in winning Saturday's 100-meter hurdles.

The Eagles' Savannah Rygiewicz won the 100-meter dash (12.18) on Saturday while Emily Dawidowich captured the 200-meter dash (24.69) and Lucy Fashingbauer took the 400-meter dash (56.90).  Rygiewicz won her second straight title in the 100-meter dash after finishing first in 2019 (the 2020 championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 public health threat). She is the fourth sprinter in school history to win at least two consecutive 100-meter dash crowns, joining Lisa Zentko (1986-87), Angela Klatt (2002-04) and Meg Heafy (2014-16).

Dawidowich is the second straight UWL sprinter to win the 200-meter dash after Rygiewicz placed first in 2019. Fashingbauer is the first Eagle to capture the 400-meter dash since Bria Halama in 2016. Team Shot
