Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field captured the Wartburg Friday Night Lights Meet at Walston-Hoover Stadium. The Eagles finished with 217.25 team points while Wartburg College (Iowa) placed second with 170.25 and Loras College (Iowa) third with 168.0. UW-Eau Claire was fourth (140.5) and UW-Oshkosh fifth (19.0).
UWL recorded eight individual first-place finishes Friday, including four in the field events.
Brianna Schyvinck captured both the hammer throw (51.90m) and shot put (13.21m).
Abby Meidl won the pole vault (3.57m) while
Olivia Owens placed first in the high jump (1.54m).

On the track, the Eagles'
Emma Lawrence won the 100-meter hurdles (14.39) and
Hannah Zenkovich took the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.75).
Emma Malooly won the 1,500-meter run (4:37.18) while the relay team of
Jessica Stelzner,
Kelly Aldrich,
Savannah Rygiewicz and
Emily Dawidowich won the 4x100-meter relay (46.36).
Other top finishes on the track included
Haley Durst placing third (12.68) in the 100-meter dash while Peyton Siehr was sixth (12.87).
Lucy Fashingbauer finished fourth (25.70) in the 200-meter dash for UWL while
Mara Schroeder was second (58.25) and
Emma Platzbecker sixth (1:00.40) in the 400-meter dash.
UWL's
Clair Shepardson took third (14.59) in the 100-meter hurdles with Zenkovich fourth (14.60). In the 400-meter hurdles,
Brooke McDowell finished second (1:05.08) and
Melanie Kunze was third (1:05.10). Lawrence,
Amber Johnson,
Katie Banie and Rygiewicz finished second (3:46.66) in the 4x400-meter relay. The 4x400-meter relay time of 3:46.66 ranks third in school history.
In Friday's field events,
Madison Page finished second in the long jump (5.59m) while
Kemmesha Thomas was fifth (5.30m) and
Mykenzie Vaassen sixth (5.28m).
Maddie Hansen was second in the high jump (11.49m) and
Kylah Frederixon third (11.25m).
The Eagles'
Ashley O'Connell placed second (3.42m) in the pole vault with
Lindsay Ruf third (3.27m).
Gabby Johnson finished second (36.34m) and
Carley Elmhorst third (31.43m) in the javelin throw.
Sarah Hulstedt placed fourth (11.69m) in the shot put while
Izzy Carroll took sixth (38.44m) in the discus throw. Tori Witcraft was fifth (47.85m) in the hammer throw while
Katheryn Horne was sixth (46.34m).
UWL returns to action Friday, May 7 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships at UW-River Falls.
