Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team opened its 2020-21 season with a dual at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in Albee Hall. No team scores were recorded.
UWL won seven individual races on Saturday, including a pair from
Brooke Presny in the 100 butterfly (1:04.37) and 200 freestyle (2:04.09). The Eagles'
Lindsey Evenson won the 50 freestyle (26.41),
Amanda Wciorka the 200 I.M. (2:23.94),
Sophia Benson the 100 backstroke (1:04.58),
Claire Vandenhouten the 500 freestyle (5:33.41) and
Emma Coltman the 100 breaststroke (1:12.07).
Evenson was also third in the 100 freestyle (57.98) while Vandenhouten finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:05.79) and Coltman second in the 200 I.M. (2:27.41).
Emily Rundahl finished second in the 100 freestyle (57.93) and third in the 200 freestyle (2:05.99) while
Kylee Sommer placed second in the 50 freestyle (26.92) and 100 backstroke (1:05.45).
Kathleen Casella finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:06.92),
Isabelle Buhler was second in the 500 freestyle (5:55.04) and
Kinzie Reischl placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:05.79).
The Eagles took the 200 medley relay (1:55.38) with Wciorka, Coltman, Presny and Evenson.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 20 at UW-Eau Claire.
