Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams completed third and final day action at the Rochester Invitational Sunday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The women's squad placed seventh overall with 249.5 points while the men's team was fourth with 459.0. A total of 10 teams competed in the women's invitational and eight in the men's.
On the women's side Sunday, UWL's
Jordy Hahlen and
Maddy Albert-Nelson each recorded second-place individual finishes. Hahlen was second (2:06.43) in the 200 backstroke while Albert-Nelson was second (2:09.79) in the 200 butterfly. The Eagles'
Autumn Seebach was sixth (2:07.15) in the 200 backstroke with Sophie Benson ninth (2:09.66) and
Kinzie Reischl 12th (2:14.00).
Abi Schauske finished ninth (2:15.86) in the 200 butterfly Sunday while
Brooke Presny 12th (2:19.44) and
Eva Beier 17th (2:24.60).
Autumn Seebach
Lauren Steien placed 10th (2:30.75) in the 200 breaststroke with Schauske 13th (2:34.53),
Raquel Salinas 16th (2:38.35) and
Isabelle Buhler 17th (2:36.71).
Claire Vandenhouten was 10th (18:31.35) in the 1,650 freestyle.
In the 100 I.M.,
Amanda Wciorka finished 11th (1:02.25) with Seebach 14th (1:03.22),
Emma Siegersma 15th (1:03.29) and Reischl 18th (1:04.20).
Reilly Eiynck placed 17th (55.09) and
Sydney Guenther 19th (55.34) in the 100 freestyle.
UWL's 400 freestyle relay of Seebach, Guenther,
Lindsey Evenson and
Lexi Burgos placed ninth (3:39.97).
Nicholas Litterer
In men's action Sunday,
Nicholas Litterer finished second (52.94) in the 100 I.M. while
Will Quackenbush was third (46.32) in the 100 freestyle. Litterer was fourth (46.50) in the 100 freestyle.
Blake Nelson finished 15th (48.15) and
Connor Cleveland 16th (48.22) in the 100 freestyle. Cleveland placed 10th (55.05) in the 100 I.M. with
Alex Starr 14th (56.86) and
Jackson Plautz 16th (58.85).
The Eagles'
Ben Hendel finished fifth (1:57.37) in the 200 butterfly with
Joe Herrick 16th (2:08.71),
Jackson Mishuk 17th (2:03.40) and Sebiyam Werdin-Kennicot 18th (2:03.61).
Brevin Kruse and
Andrew Perrin both recorded ninth-place individual finishes Sunday with Kruse in the 200 backstroke (1:57.07) and Perrin in the 1,650 freestyle (17:08.56).
Zach Vinson finished 10th (1:57.89),
Jacob Brehmer 15th (2:02.47) and
Gavin Vink 17th (1:58.62) in the 200 backstroke.
Matthew Geils was 17th (18:30.84) in the 1,650 freestyle while Werdin-Kennicot 18th (18:38.05) and
Connor Baar 20th (19:00.73).
Jonathan Pella was 11th (2:11.66),
Blake Harre 13th (2:17.54) and
Will Jager 17th (2:23.48) in the 200 breaststroke.
In three-meter diving,
Evan Zimdars was sixth (357.30 points) and
Vance Winter 10th (2:63.90).
The Eagles' 400 freestyle relay of Litterer,
Mickey Keating, Vinson and Quackenbush finished fifth (3:07.78).
