La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team, ranked sixth on the InterMat, split a pair of duals Saturday in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles earned a 22-15 victory over second-ranked North Central College (Ill.) before falling 30-13 to fifth-ranked Coe College (Iowa). UWL is now 2-1 on the season.

North Central (Ill.) took a 6-0 lead over UWL as Julian Valtierrez won by decision (11-5) over
Brandon Murphy at 125-pounds. Top-ranked Robbie Precin won by decision (6-0) over 10th-ranked

The Eagles got on the board at 141-pounds as
Tyler Shackle won by decision (9-0) over second-ranked Javen Estrada to make it 6-3. North Central (lll.) took a 9-3 advantage with third-ranked Alex Villar winning by decision (5-2) over UWL's
Jake Mandt at 149.
Cole Cervantes gave the Cardinals a 12-3 lead at 157-pounds with a win (11-6) over UWL's
Nolan Hertel, ranked fifth on InterMat. Sixth-ranked
Seth Brossard cut the deficit to 12-7 with a major decision (13-1) over Payton Geigner at 165-pounds. North Central (Ill.) extended its lead to 15-7 after Joey Jens won by decision (5-2) over
Luke Clark at 174.
The Eagles took the final three duals. Fifth-ranked
Kalyn Jahn won by fall (2:19) over Jack Hominac at 184-pounds to cut the lead to 15-13 and third-ranked
Isaac Lahr followed with a win by fall (1:38) over Elijah Brockie at 197-pounds to give UWL a 19-15 lead. The Eagles'
Ben Kawczynski, ranked seventh in the country, secured the dual win with a decision (2-0) over Robbie Bates at 285-pounds.
Coe (Iowa) raced out to a 14-0 lead in its victory over UWL. Fifth-ranked Alex Friddle won by technical fall (16-0, 5:55) over Murphy at 125-pounds. Bryce Parke (133), seventh-ranked Brock Henderson (141) and Dylan Falck (149) followed with wins by decision. Parke defeated Sarbacker (5-0), Henderson beat Shackle (8-4) and Falck defeated Mandt (7-4).
Seth Brossard
Hertel and Brossard cut the lead to 14-9. Hertel won by decision (7-2) over Will Esmoil at 157-pounds while Brossard won by fall (4:16) over Ryker Kurimski at 165. The Kohawks took the next two matches with 10th-ranked Tristin Westphal winning by major decision (14-3) over Clark at 174 and 10th-ranked Ryan Schott winning by fall (1:06) over Jahn at 184.
Lahr won by major decision (12-4) over Jared Voss at 197-pounds before third-ranked Kaleb Reeves of Coe (Iowa) won by fall (1:12) over Kawczynski at 285.
