Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams completed first day action at the Rochester Invitational Friday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The women's squad is in ninth-place with 37 team points while the men's team is in fifth with 123. A total of 11 teams are competing.
Maddy Albert-Nelson
On the women's side, UWL's 800 freestyle relay finished 12th (8:02.05) with
Autumn Seebach,
Sydney Guenther,
Amanda Richards adn
Emily Rundahl. The 200 medley relay of
Jordy Hahlen,
Lauren Steien,
Maddy Albert-Nelson and
Alexis Hoeben placed 15th (1:51.00).
Individually, Albert-Nelson was 12th (59.17) and
Amanda Wciorka 17th (1:00.15) in the 100 butterfly while Hoeben was 18th (25.01) in the 50 freestyle. Seebach finished 19th (2:14.33) in the 200 I.M. and
Claire Vandenhouten 20th (5:23.42) in the 500 freestyle.
Erika Hysaaliu was 11th (330.90 points),
Laci Gottschalk 16th (292.15) and
Lauren Feder 18th (277.65) in the one-meter diving preliminaries on Friday.
In men's action Friday, UWL's 800 freestyle relay of
Nicholas Litterer,
Connor Cleveland,
Ben Hendel and
Will Quackenbush finished fourth (6:55.23) while the 200 medley relay of
Ming Ong, Quackenbush,
Jackson Mishuk and Litterer placed ninth (1:35.41).
Blake Nelson
Blake Nelson was sixth (21.52) and Litterer ninth (21.49) in the 50 freestyle. UWL had four finishers in the top-17 in the 100 butterfly as
Ming Ong placed seventh (52.00), Hendel 12th (52.90), Mishuk 16th (55.33) adn
Zach Vinson 17th (53.21).
Vinson was also 13th (1:59.64) in the 200 I.M. with
Gavin Vink 16th (2:01.50) and
Jacob Brehmer 18th (2:02.54). The Eagles'
Andrew Perrin was 16th (4:50.86) and
Jonathan Pella 20th (4:56.07) in the 500 freestyle.
