La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned a 3-0 win over UW-Stevens Point Thursday night in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Semifinals (presented by Culver's) at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. UWL improves to 14-3-2 on the season while UW-Stevens Point drops to 9-11.

With the win, UWL advances to play at UW-Oshkosh in the WIAC Championship game Saturday, November 6 at 6 p.m. UWL, the tournament's second-seed, will be making its sixth appearance, including fifth straight, in the league's championship game.
The Eagles have won three tournament titles (1996, 2017, 2018). UW-Oshkosh, the tournament's top-seed, advanced to Saturday's championship with a 3-2 overtime home win over fifth-seeded UW-Eau Claire Thursday night.
UWL also played in the WIAC Championship game in 1999, 2016 and 2019. The Eagles fell 1-0 to UW-Stevens Point in 1999 while dropping the title game to UW-Whitewater in 2016 (3-0) and 2019 (4-1).

Sophie Amundson. The Eagles led, 1-0, at halftime as they recorded all 16 shots in the game. UWL had three corner kicks in the first half.
The Eagles took a 2-0 lead early in the second half with
Ellie Behnke scoring at 48:05.
Ellie Arndt and Amundson recorded assists. UWL finished the scoring at 87:14 with
Lizzy Eggers scoring off a Haley Slaski assist.
UWL finished with 24 shots in the game, including 10 on goal. Allan had four shots with one on goal while
Maggie Hernandez totaled three shots with two on goal.
Alexis McMahon also had a pair of shots on goal.

UW-Stevens Point was held to three shots with two on goal as UWL earned its eighth shutout of the year. Jessica Camarato, Madison Culli and Bridget Kauzlaric each had a shot for UW-Stevens Point with Camarato and Culli recording it on goal.
UWL had five corner kicks in the game while UW-Stevens Point totaled two.
Quinn Shannon earned the shutout for UWL, finishing with two saves. Miranda Nieman recorded seven saves for UW-Stevens Point.
Meeting for the 10th time in WIAC Tournament history, UW-Stevens Point now leads UWL, 6-2-2 in the tournament. UWL recorded its first win in the WIAC Tournament over UW-Stevens Point since a 4-1 victory in the 1996 championship game.
