UWL Men's Track and Field Hosts NCAA Final Qualifier

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team hosted the UW-La Crosse National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Qualifier Thursday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded.

UWL won four individual titles including three on the track and one in the field as well as two relays. Winning individual titles were Josh Koenecke (100 meter dash, 10.63,), Joshua Desorcy (400-meter dash, 48.07), Zachary Shoemaker-Allen (1,500-meter run, 3:53.13) and Samuel Sadowski (long jump, 7.29 meters).

Troy DeBruin, Seth Holden, Justin Kotarak, James Hoesley won the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 40.47 while Collin Meyer, Charlie Handrick, Joshua Desorcy, Jake Sullivan won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:12.66.

The Eagles had 11 top-six finishers on the track. Holden (10.84) and Hoesley (10.84) finished fifth and sixth respectively in the 100-meter dash while Meyer (48.60) and Sullivan (48.99) finished fourth and sixth in the 400-meter dash. Coming in fifth-place in the 800 meter run was Brian Hansford with a time of 1:52.67 while Mitchell Maegaard was second in the 1,500-meter run (3:53.64).

In the 110-meter hurdles, Dillon Murman was third (15.07) while Ben Jones was fifth (15.61). Will Seeser was fourth (54.62) in the 400-meter hurdles while Travis Reiter finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run (15:34.20) and Chris Pahnke sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:38.32).

In the field events, UWL had five finishers in the top-six with Jacob Teunas second in the long jump (7.14 meters) and third in the triple jump (14.38 meters). In the hammer throw, Andrew Jarrett was third (56.12 meters) and Justin Donkin fifth (54.47 meters). Alec Morrison finished sixth with a javelin throw (44.12 meters).

UWL will travel to the NCAA Division III Championships on May 23-25 in Geneva, Ohio.
