Platteville, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team competed at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday. No team scores were recorded as the Eagles won three individual titles.
UWL won a pair of field events as
Andrew Jarrett captured the hammer throw (191-4) and
Samuel Sadowski the long jump (23-6 1/4). Sadowski was also fifth in the triple jump (44-9). On the track,
Zachary Shoemaker-Allen won the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:27.41).
Other top finishes in the field events included a pair of second-place finishes for
Jacob Teunas, including the long (23-4) and triple (47-10) jumps. The Eagles'
Justin Donkin was second in the javelin throw (168-10).
Along with Jarrett's first-place finish in the hammer throw, UWL's
Christian Morzinski was fourth (178-10) and Donkin fifth (173-11).
The Eagles' Keagan Stoneworth was fourth in the pole vault (14-11) while
Kyle Pulvermacher finished fourth in the discus throw (154-9) and sixth in the shot put (49-2 1/2).
On the track,
Seth Holden had with a pair of second-place showings, including 100 (10.72) and 200 (21.90) meter dashes.
James Hoesley had a pair of top-five finishes, placing third in the 100-meter dash (10.78) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.17). UWL's
Troy DeBruin was fourth in the 200-meter dash (22.13).
The Eagles'
Will Seeser was fifth (50.07) and
Charlie Handrick sixth (50.51) in the 400-meter dash.
UWL returns to action Thursday, April 18 hosting the Phil Esten Challenge at 11 a.m.
