UW-Platteville Final Qualifier
Wartburg College (Iowa) Qualifier
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team competed at a pair of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Qualifying Meets Friday and Saturday. No team scores were recorded as the Eagles saw action at the UW-Platteville Final Qualifier and Wartburg College (Iowa) Qualifier.
At UW-Platteville on Friday,
Daniel Graf was third (52-7 1/2) in the shot put while
Christian Morzinski placed third (61-8 1/4) in the weight throw. The Eagles'
Kyle Pulvermacher finished fifth (50-8 3/4), Nick Swoger seventh (49-7 3/4) and
Michael Lampman 13th (43-4 1/4) in the shot put.
Justin Donkin placed seventh (56-10 1/4) and Lampman 12th (49-9 1/4) in the weight throw.
At the two-day Wartburg (Iowa) Qualifier,
Andrew Jarrett captured the weight throw (71-2 3/4), setting a Hoover Fieldhouse record. Donkin was seventh (55-1) in the weight throw. Other top finishes in the field events included
Cameron Sorenson fifth (22-5 3/4) in the long jump while
Lucas McCormick was fifth (14-9 1/2) in the pole vault. Pulvermacher finished ninth (49-6 1/4) and Swoger 14th (48-6) in the shot put.
On the track,
Josh Koenecke was second (22.12) and
Troy DeBruin seventh (22.54) in the 200-meter dash while
Dillon Murman was sixth (8.49) in the 60-meter hurdles. UWL's
Tyler Nault was fourth (14:48.57) and
Matt Bourland fifth (14:50.38) in the 5,000-meter run while
Mitchell Maegaard was seventh (4:17.04) in the mile run and
Zachary Shoemaker-Allen 10th (1:59.35) in the 800-meter run.
The Eagles' 4x400-meter relay placed third (3:18.56) with
Seth Holden,
Joshua Desorcy,
Jake Sullivan and
Collin Meyer.
UWL returns to action Friday, March 8 at the NCAA Division III Championships in Boston, Massachusetts. The meet will be held at the Reggie Lewis Center and hosted by the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
The qualifiers for the national championships will be announced Sunday, March 3.
