Mankato, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team placed second at the Minnesota State University, Mankato Maverick Invitational Friday night in Myers Fieldhouse. The Eagles finished with 149.5 team points while Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) won the team title with 151.0. A total of four teams competed.
UWL won five individual titles on Friday, including three in the field events. The Eagles'
Kaleb Schuster took the pole vault (14-7 1/2) while
Samuel Sadowski won the long jump (23-3 1/4) and
Andrew Jarrett the weight throw (68-5 3/4).
On the track,
Justin Kotarak won the 200-meter dash (22.93) and
Joshua Desorcy the 400-meter dash (51.13).
Other top-four finishes in Friday's field events for the Eagles included
Isaac Lock second (14-7 1/2) and Keagen Stoneworth fourth (14-1 3/4) in the pole vault while
Cameron Sorenson finished third (22-1 1/2) in the long jump.
Kyle Pulvermacher was fourth (51-2 3/4) in the shot put with
Christian Morzinski fourth (58-3) in the weight throw.
On the track,
Michael Austin Bates was second (8.17) and Lock fourth (9.19) in the 60-meter hurdles while
Joel Shelp finished second (22.96) and
Robert Willison third (23.05) in the 200-meter dash.
Matt Prendergast finished second (52.50) in the 400-meter dash while
Joshua Christensen was third (9:03.52) and
Kyle Kolar fourth (9:04.94) in the 3,000-meter run. The Eagles'
Matthew Foster was fourth (7.12) in the 60-meter dash and Connor Denman placed fourth (2:03.53) in the 800-meter run.
UWL returns to action Friday, February 22 at the WIAC Championships at UW-Whitewater.
