Wrestling Drops Pair of Matches at La Crosse Duals

Grant Zamin won a pair of matches Saturday.

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team dropped a pair of matches at the La Crosse Duals Saturday in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, ranked eighth on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Top-25 poll, are now 1-2 on the season.

UWL dropped its opening dual, 25-15, to ninth-ranked Coe College (Iowa) before falling, 37-9, to second-ranked Loras College (Iowa), 37-9.

The Eagles are now 20-5 all-time in the duals, which started in 2011.

In the other duals on Saturday, Loras (Iowa) defeated 13th-ranked UW-Whitewater, 33-18, while Coe (Iowa) earned a 35-18 victory over UW-Whitewater.

UWL returns to action Friday, December 22 when it travels to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Desert Duals.

The Eagles face North Central College (Ill.), Trine University (Ind.) and Minot State University (N.D.) in the Sunset Ballroom at the Flamingo Hotel.
