Whitewater, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team won its second straight indoor meet as it took first out of 12 teams at the "Squig" Converse Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Kachel Fieldhouse Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles finished in first-place with a team score of 149.0 points while UW-Whitewater was second with 116.5 points and UW-Stevens Point third with 81.0. Rounding out the top-five was the University of Chicago (Ill.) with 76.0 points and North Central College (Ill.) with 67.0.
UWL won three events on Friday and Saturday.
On the track,
Seth Holden won the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.89 seconds.
Collin Meyer,
Charlie Handrick,
Matt Prendergast and
Will Seeser won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:22.46.
In the field events,
Daniel Graf won the shot put with a mark of 52-3 3/4.
The Eagles recorded 14 top-three finishes in the two-day invitational.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 2 when it travels to the Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State University-Mankato.
