Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country team earned a dual victory at Luther College (Iowa) Friday afternoon. The Eagles finished with 23 points while the Norse totaled 36.
UWL had eight of the top-11 finishers Friday, including three in the top-four. The Eagles'
Ellie Miller placed second with a time of 19:42.4 on the 5,000-meter course.
Claire Koenecke was third (19:48.3) and
Emma Malooly fourth (20:05.1). UWL's
Valerie Jones finished sixth (20:15.8) with
Anna Buchberger eighth (20:16.9),
Madeline Sweeney ninth (20:20.3),
Brittany Gagas 10th (20:20.7) and
Ryanne Schneider 11th (20:31.7).
Linnea Cochran finished 15th (20:40.8) and
Kayli Buchli 16th (20:47.5) to record top-20 finishes.

Jaci Hinz placing 21st (21:03.9),
McKenzie Kruchten 22nd (21:09.6),
Delaney Schultz 23rd (21:17.7),
Abbey Wedwick 24th (21:25.5),
Kris Mitchell 26th (21:37.9),
Allie Wachowski 29th (21:49.3) and
Megan Crawford 31st (22:23.5).
Amelia Morrow of Luther (Iowa) won the individual title (19:21.5). A total of 37 runners competed.
UWL returns to action Saturday, October 27 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships, set for for noon at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wisconsin.
