Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a 187.950 to 186.075 dual victory at Winona State University Thursday night in McCown Gym. The Eagles scored 47.825 on the vault; 46.175 on the uneven parallel bars; 46.450 on the balance beam and 47.500 on the floor exercise.
UWL's
Samantha Wiekamp won the all-around (37.800) title Thursday night while
Dani Barmore was third (36.750). Wiekamp also captured the vault (9.650) while finishing third on the uneven parallel bars (9.450) and fourth on the balance beam (9.425).
Amy Enright captured the uneven parallel bars (9.600) while tying for sixth on the floor exercise (9.475).
UWL took the top-four places on the vault. Along with Wiekamp's first-place showing (9.650), Barmore was second (9.625),
Leah Spankowski third (9.575) and
Kari Willett fourth (9.525). Willett was also second on the floor exercise (9.625) and tied for fifth on the balance beam (9.350) with Spankowski.
Monique Muehlethaler tied for fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.200) with teammate Savanna Farrell. Muehlethaler placed fifth (9.525) and
Savana Kettner tied for sixth (9.475) on the floor exercise.
UWL returns to action Friday, March 10 at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 6:30 p.m.
