Eagles Finish Runner-Up at NCGA National Championships; Breckwoldt Wins Vault; Six Earn All-America Honors

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team finished second at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships Friday afternoon at SUNY Cortland in Cortland, N.Y. 

2026 NCGA GYMNASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS BASICS
  • Team Results - UW-Oshkosh won the team title by scoring 194.750 while UWL finished second with 194.100. Finishing in third was SUNY Brockport with 193.875 points while UW-Eau Claire finished fourth (192.800), UW-Whitewater fifth (192.450) and SUNY Cortland (N.Y.) sixth (192.250).

  • Eagle History At NCGA Championships - UWL has won an NCGA record 18 team championships in the 41 years. In fact, UWL now has 28 top-two finishes in the 41 national championship meets including winning the 2025 National Title.
  • NCGA All-America: The top eight finishers in each event earns All-America honors. UWL had six Eagles earn NCGA All-America honors on Friday. With her first place finish on the vault, Paige Breckwoldt earns her second NCGA All-America honor on the vault. On the balance beam, Lainey Vogt and Lauren Main each earned their first NCGA All-America honor.  Claire Robbins, Grace Edwards and Breckwoldt all picked up NCGA honors on the floor exercise. The honor is Edwards second while it is the first on the floor exercise for both Robbins and Breckwoldt.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
   
VAULT
  • With a 9.800, Breckwoldt tied for the top spot to claim her first NCGA National Title. Breckwoldt is the ninth Eagle to win a title on the vault.  
  • Also finishing in the top ten on the vault was Sarah Pastore as she tied for ninth with a 9.725.
  • As a team, the Eagles scored a 48.475 on the vault with UW-Oshkosh was the top team on the vault with a 48.550. 
    UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
  • TUWL scored a 47.925 as a team with UW-Oshkosh was the top team on the uneven parallel bars with a 49.025
  • Leading the Eagles on the bars was Azia Hawkins with a 9.775 on to finish tied for 11th. 
    BALANCE BEAM
  • The top finisher on the balance beam for the Eagles was Vogt who finished tied for second with a 9.800. 
  • With a 9.775, Main finished tied for fourth on the beam while Robbins finished 10th with a 9.750
  • As a team, UWL recorded the top team score with a 48.675. 
    FLOOR EXERCISE
  • The Eagles had three gymnast finish tied for seventh on the floor exercise as Breckwoldt, Edwards and Robbins all scored a 9.825
  • The Eagles finished with a meet high 49.025 as a team on the floor exercise.
