St. Peter, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a 188.900 to 184.725 dual victory at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Friday night in Sponberg Gymnastics Studio.
The Eagles scored 47.300 on the vault; 47.725 on the uneven parallel bars; 46.875 on the balance beam and 47.000 on the floor exercise.
UWL's
Kari Willett captured a pair of individual titles Friday, winning the vault (9.600) and balance beam (9.600). She also placed third (9.500) on the floor exercise.
The Eagles'
Lauren Wilson won the uneven parallel bars (9.725).
Three gymnastics recorded a pair of top-four finishes with
Samantha Wiekamp third on the vault (9.500) and tied for third on the uneven parallel bars (9.500).Â
Leah Spankowski finished second on the balance beam (9.575) and tied for fourth on the vault (9.450) while
Savana Kettner was fourth on the balance beam (9.425) and floor exercise (9.425).
Other top finishes Friday included
Abby Ostrovsky second (9.550) and
Jessica Ahrens sixth (9.300) on the floor exercise while
Amy Enright finished fifth (9.400) on the balance beam. The Eagles'
Dani Barmore was fifth (9.475) and teammate
Monique Muehlethaler tied for sixth (9.425) on the uneven parallel bars. Savana Farrell was sixth (9.400) on the vault.
UWL returns to action Friday, March 17 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIA) Championships/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional Championships in Winona, Minnesota starting at 5 p.m.
