Complete Results - Candlewood Suites Duals

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team went 3-0 in the Candlewood Suites Duals Saturday in Mitchell Hall Fieldhouse.  The Eagles, currently ranked fourth on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, improve to 4-0 on the season.
 
UWL opened with a 40-6 win over North Central College (Ill.), followed by a 25-13 victory over seventh-ranked Concordia College (Minn.) and a 28-11 win over Loras College (Iowa).
 
"Great day for UWL wrestling," said head coach Dave Malecek.  "I felt like our team competed very hard in all three duals and anytime you can leave the Candlewood Suites Duals 3-0, you have to feel pretty good.
 
"Big win from Nelson Baker, pinning the returning All-America from Concordia (Minn.), and another big day for Mason Geary at 149-pounds, winning his match in the finals seconds," added Malecek.  "Dustin Weinmann also had a big win by major decision against a highly-ranked kid from North Central (Ill.)."
 
The Eagles extended their winning streak to 17 in the Candlewood Suites Duals with Saturday's three victories.  UWL is 17-1 all-time in the duals with the lone loss coming to NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University (Minn.) by the score of 29-7 in 2011.  St. Cloud State (Minn.) was ranked first in NCAA Division II for the match.
