Fort Wayne, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team placed fifth at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Multi-Divisional National Duals Saturday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.  The Eagles, ranked third in the NWCA and now 9-3 on the season, went 2-0 Saturday to claim fifth-place.  UWL opened with a 20-19 win over second-ranked Augsburg College (Minn.) before a 31-11 victory over State University of New York-Cortland in the fifth-place match.

UWL has now finished at least fifth in six of the last seven NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals.  The Eagles placed second in 2011 and third in 2012 while finishing fifth in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2016.

UWL opened this year's NWCA Duals Friday with a 2-1 record.  The Eagles started with a 27-10 win over 17th-ranked Luther College (Iowa) before falling 18-17 to seventh-ranked Concordia College (Minn.) in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, UWL defeated 11th-ranked Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) 26-12.
